Mitrovdan is an Orthodox holiday dedicated to Demetrius of Thessaloniki, the ancient commander of Thessaloniki, who suffered due to the spread of Christianity. It is celebrated on November 8. The feast of the Holy Great Martyr Demetrius is marked in the church calendar with a red letter.
The icon is carved and additionally painted with gilding. The frame is of rich ornamentation expressed in the leaves of the noble vine and the fruits.
Additionally painted in gold colors.
