This extraordinary icon exudes the unusual elegance and detail characteristic of the relief gold printing technique. The central part of the icon is dominated by the figure of the saint, whose dress and halo are made of gold in relief, giving them a special shine and depth. The background of the icon also has golden hues, but more subtle and even, which further highlights the main motif.
Every detail on the saint is carefully made. The delicate lines of the gold print emphasize the contours of the face, the drapery of the clothes and other elements, creating a realistic and vivid display. The contrasts between the gold and darker surfaces allow each segment of the icon to be clearly distinguished and provide a sense of three-dimensionality.
The icon is carefully placed inside a robust wooden frame. The wood of the frame is dark in color, which provides a nice contrast to the shimmering gold on the icon. The frame itself is simply designed, without superfluous details, which allows the main attention to remain focused on the gold print of the icon.
Overall, the icon is a perfect blend of traditional art and craftsmanship, where the embossed gold printing technique gives a special visual effect, and the wooden frame adds rusticity and warmth to complete this masterpiece.

The Last Supper is the dinner that Christ held with the apostles on Thursday, two days after entering Jerusalem before his martyrdom and death, according to the rules of the Jewish Passover feast. Christians believe that the Eucharist was instituted on that occasion. The Last Supper was held in Sionska Gornica, the Upper Room, that is the house of Saint John the Theologian, which was located on Mount Sion, right next to the Old City in Jerusalem. The last supper was a formal celebration of the Jewish Passover. From the biblical texts about the establishment of the last supper (Job. 13,1-30; Matt. 26,17-20; Mark. 14,12-25; Luke. 22,7-30; I Cor. 11,24-25) it follows that Christ symbolically points to his mission as the messiah, which takes place because of his death on the cross where he was sacrificed as a lamb for human sin. This brought about a change and actualization of the symbolic significance of the Passover celebration.
