Product name: Model of Mileseva Monastery

The miniature is made of plaster, hand-worked and hand-painted.

      Dimensions: 13cm x 14cm x 10cm

Mileševa was erected in 1219 by Prince Vladislav, the second son of King Stefan Nemanja. The church is dedicated to the Ascension of Christ. It was painted in the third decade of the 13th century, before the kittor acquired the royal crown (1234).
Mileševa was second in rank among all Serbian monasteries, just after Studenica. In 1377 there was crowned the King of Bosnia and Serbia - Stefan Tvrtko Kotromanić, while in 1466 Stefan Vukčić Kosača took the title of "Duke of St. Sava". The monastery gained great popularity among the people in 1236, when the body of Saint Sava from Trnovo was transferred here.
Mileševa is the St. Sava mausoleum, a gallery of Serbian medieval painting and the cradle of printing. Mileševas' greatest treasure are the partially preserved frescoes, which are rated as the top of Byzantine painting of the 13th century. The most famous is the Angel from Mileševa, who actually introduced Europe via satellite via satellite to mid-20th century America.
