The Holy Trinity Monastery is a medieval monastery belonging to the Diocese of Mileseva of the Serbian Orthodox Church. It is located in Pljevlja in the north of Montenegro, two kilometers from the city center. The monastery complex is 61 km from Durmitor and 38 km from the Tara Bridge. The monastery church is dedicated to the Trinity, usually the Holy Trinity in church literature.
In the monastery of the Holy Trinity his literary work was developed by Patriarch of Serbia Varnava, worldly Petar Rosic. After graduating from the Theological Academy in St. Petersburg, the Patriarch Varnava begins the initiative to build the St. Sava Temple in Belgrade.
According to tradition, it is the endowment of a Serbian ruler, Nemanjic. But as they built larger endowments so called. laurels, that is unlikely. It remains to have been erected by some local landlord. The Holy Trinity architecture is different from the monasteries in the region. The oldest part of the Trinity Church is of a very unusual plan, stylistically indeterminate, though its base is clearly reminiscent of the Serbian-Byzantine style of the 13th century.
