Visoki Decani Monastery is a Serbian medieval monastery - the endowment of King Stefan Decani and Emperor Dušan. The initiative to build this monastery belonged to St. Sava. The King of Deacon in his chrisoville made it very clear that the place was chosen by Saint Sava, but death overtook him, so that temple was destined for him to erect it. Construction was completed in 1335, and the frescoes were completed around 1348. The monastery is dedicated to the Ascension of the Lord - Salvation (the fresco of the feast is also displayed in the dome called Christ the Almighty, in Greek Pantokrator).
