Cilim (rug) is a type of carpet made on the loom, most often made of wool. The word is derived from the Turkish word "kilim" which means translated rug or blanket. Although the main purpose of rugs is to cover floors because of their beauty they can be found on the walls as tapestries. Also, because of the softness, they can easily replace classic bedspreads especially in the winter months.
Rugs made in Serbia can be said to be the fabrics of the past, present and future, at an enviable level of quantity, quality, production, but also of everything that has followed this form of folk art for centuries.
The motifs on the rugs made in Serbia have the specificity that they often hide the mystical line. Because woven symbols are often old symbols of magical meaning and can be read as alphabet images, because there are 95 of them, which those who do them must know by heart. Every carpet in Serbia tells its story, different, depending on the diversity of the epoch in which it was created.

Original handmade box.
The box is handmade from steamed beech wood in brown shades, stained, varnished and trimmed with surfaces protected by Annie Sloan wax.
The casting of the lid is cast in a handmade mold. The process of making and processing the casting is adapted to the rustic souvenir look.
The souvenir and the mold are the works of Dragan Vujnovic.
