Product name: Hand engraved leather flask KOLOVRAT - smaller

      Hand-engraved leather flask (KOLOVRAT motif).
Each one is unique, hand-cut, sewn, hand-carved and painted, and each is a work of art.
Fewer and fewer people are engaged in hand engraving in the world, old masters are slowly leaving and young people are not ready to spend years learning this noble craft. We are lucky that we have one truly top craftsman among us.
Therefore, be sure that this kind of flask can be an exceptional and very valuable gift for you, a loved one or a business partner.
Even if that person doesn't drink, this kind of work is a form of art that can also be a decoration on a shelf and will attract attention and give someone the opportunity to tell someone a story about Serbian traditions and symbols.

Volume: 7 oz (approx. 210 ml)

KOLOVRAT, spinning wheel, the wheel of Svarog - is a symbol of the sun, life, the constant circulation of nature and the universe.
It can be found in almost all ancient religions, but predominantly among the Slavs.
Their life depended exclusively on the solar cycle and all holidays and important events were connected with the sun. The sun was believed to be the most important in the universe, the focus of strength, life, hot energy and fertility.
Our ancestors wore kolovrat as amulets around their necks, usually made of gold, bronze or brass, embroidered on clothes and military flags and engraved on weapons, believing that the Sun would bring them victory and glory, and that's usually how it happened.
There are several varieties of kolovrat.
The wheel with eight spokes represents the Sun (that is, Svarog), with six the sky, that is, its ruler Perun (thus PERUNIKA is one of the variations on the five-spoked spinning wheel or Perun's wheel), while the one with four (SVASTIKA) represents Mother Earth.
The sun wheel can rotate clockwise or counterclockwise, and both views are correct - the first is the so-called "by the Sun", the direction of sowing represents our world, the world of the living, while the other is the so-called "from the Sun", the direction of the harvest and represents the world of our dead ancestors. One cannot exist without the other.
